Appomattox, VA – “The vote today by the VA5th District GOP Committee for a primary was a complete disappointment, but certainly not unexpected. Once again the GOP establishment has seemingly turned a deaf ear to the voters and taxpayers of the 5th district,” said Mark Lloyd of the Lynchburg Tea Party, and United VA5th District Tea Parties. Lloyd also said “The GOP leadership locally, and apparently all the way up the line take our votes for granted, and that is a terrible, terrible, mistake.”
“But, now we move forward to the 5th District Tea Party Debates. The first one is scheduled for Friday, January 22, at 7pm in Charlottesville at the Lane Auditorium. We do have commitments from all candidates and all are expected to participate,” Lloyd also said

If you haven't done a thing to support the 5th District Republicans while they put up signs and manned the polls. What makes you think you could just go in there and try to ride rough shot over the TRUE workers for Conservative Ideals? Attending a TEA PARTY does not give you the right to tell them what to do. If your truly american patriots. THINK about the TROOPS who can now VOTE!!!

Alright big mouth, you are mighty assumptive to make the claim that tea party members haven't done anything to support the 5th district, when in FACT most of them are GOP supporters. If you think the GOP represents TRUE conservatives, you need to get your head checked and see the jerks in DC who are members of the GOP who voted for the bailout, cap and trade, and who are working in the senate to pass healthcare–just to name a few. Also check out your guy Hurt, who is THE most liberal GOP candidate at this point. Must we start discussing HIS record? Get over yourself.
Troll or GOP hack? Either way, you are a sham.

Oh, that's right, being a registered voter no longer qualifies you to exercise your 1st amendment right to influence politics. I guess you have to be a paying Republicrat party member.

Wow, this type of hostility coming from someone who sounds as if they may be a GOPer? This truly makes me want to run far, far away from anything GOP. Yikes! Glad to know the GOP supports the Tea Party movement.
And is "Verga Supporter" a signature or a slam? Because Verga IS a GOP candidate, right? Wow.

The GUTLESS Anonymous comment ASSUMES much! I happen to know that Mr.Lloyd has been a loyal Republican for years. He works the polls in Campbell County EVERY election, signs and bumper stickers too. The fact that so many good Republicans are turning against the GOP establishment is EXACTLY for the reasons we witnessed in Appomattox is being made quite clear by the swelling ranks of the Tea Party movement. You say the faithful party members ARE the TRUE conservatives, well, they think they are and are duped into FOLLOWING their LEADERSHIP. The fact is that this Republic was NOT formed to have our elected officials LEAD us. Rather to have the REPRESENT us, and the PEOPLE CHOOSE who they want to REPRESENT them, and NOT have them ASSIGNED.
BTW-the military absentee vote is a hollow argument. I would like to know how many ACTUAL absentee votes come in for a primary. If a military member wants to participate in a convention they can have a family member, or friend show up and ACT as proxy so long as the proxy meets the requirement to be a delegate, may not be an official proxy, but the vote would still be counted.
