				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One thing you must respect about Occupy Wallstreet (OWS) groups all across the country is that they don&#8217;t ask for permission. They just protest. No permits. No nothing! </p>
<p>As a Tea Partier it has bothered me that we should jump through so many government mandated hoops to hold a protest. Should we allow them to place absurd conditions upon us with the potential and real possibility that we might not hold our protests? I know of at least 2 instances where we&#8217;ve canceled the idea of doing something because it was too expensive. At one event in Lynchburg we were required to pay more than $800 to hold an event. We had to pay for 2 portable toilets and hire off duty police (as if that was needed being that 1/3rd of our group was armed). </p>
<p>As of this writing the City of Richmond hasn&#8217;t charged the occupy protestors a dime. They didn&#8217;t ask permission to utilize their rights. Contrast that to the Richmond Tea Party who was charged over $10,000 for the privilege to protest. </p>
<p><strong>Is something a right if you need permission to use it?</strong> It&#8217;s always irked me that we comply and get permits to hold a rally or protest. Notice that for the most part OWS gets a pass for over a week? It isn&#8217;t till the protestors make such a mess they become a health hazard or till crime and rape becomes a problem that they shut them down. Why? Cause the police and government KNOW that the 1st amendment gives them the right to peaceably assemble.<br />
<strong><br />
Those that might disagree with this would say: </strong>Does a protestor have the right to block a road,bridge, or impeded my travel? The answer to that is no. That person would be infringing on your Liberty. That&#8217;s not what I&#8217;m saying or advocating. But government, be it local,state, or federal has no right to dictate IF you can protest or the terms that will make it possible to protest (toilets,cops,etc). At some point a case could be made that a 2 week siege on a public park or damage from such a protracted protest to the park is infringing on my liberty to use that park. But all this gets into a broader topic of Liberty and it&#8217;s beyond the scope of this article. </p>
<p><a href="http://lynchburgteaparty.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/OWS.png"><img src="http://lynchburgteaparty.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/OWS-300x216.png" alt="" title="OWS" width="300" height="216" class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1084" /></a>When it comes to OWS there isn&#8217;t much I agree with them on. They are protesting what they think is capitalism. Try to educate them through their drunken, drug or public education induced stupor that they are wrong and you&#8217;d have better luck trying to have a conversation with a brick wall. However, we can agree that Crony Capitalism is bad. That bailouts are bad. That the FED (Federal Reserve) is a detriment to our economy. But they would rather we institute communist policies to counter these problems. I and others would institute free market policies to counter them. </p>
<p>But on this we can agree; you don&#8217;t need a permit to use a right given to you by God. Lets hope we remember this next time. </p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>“Taxation without representation” was the reason for the original tea party in Boston. It was on Dec. 16, 1773, that a group of country loving colonists boarded some tea-laden ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. The incident remains an event in American history that represents the spirit of our country and her desire to be and remain free.</p>
<p>This action on the part of the colonists was the result of a resistance movement throughout the colonies against the Tea Act, which had been passed by the British Parliament in the same year. Colonists objected to the Tea Act for a variety of reasons, especially because they believed that it violated their right to be taxed only by their own elected representatives, thus the phrase “taxation without representation.”</p>
<p>Any American school child who ever studied this event in history undoubtedly hailed these early Americans as patriots and heroes for their actions. When, however, modern Americans seek to follow in their steps, minus the destruction of valuable goods, they are vilified.</p>
<p>The modern tea party movement has been called right wing extremists, terrorists, racists and hobbits. We, they say, are responsible for the downgrade of the United States’ credit rating. Isn’t that blaming the firefighters for the fire when they simply show up to put the fire out?</p>
<p>It has also been said that the tea party is a passing fad and that we should “go to hell.” Now, according to Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson of Florida, we are “Public Enemy No. 1.” At a town-hall in her Miami district, she told her constituents “Let us all remember who the real enemy is. The real enemy is the tea party!” Nancy Pelosi has given her Democratic puppets their marching orders: Slander the tea party at every turn.</p>
<p>I am a member of the Lynchburg Tea Party, and I am because we have people in our government that do not truly represent the people of our country but seem to want to tax, tax and then tax some more. If you will simply attend one of our meetings, you will find a group of calm, normal-looking and normal-speaking people who are simply trying to do what we can to return sanity to government. If you don&#8217;t see the similarities to what the founders were facing in their day then I&#8217;d simply say WAKE UP&#8230;and if you choose not to wake up then: <em>&#8220;If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. <strong>May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!</strong>&#8220;</em> Samuel Adams</p>
<p>As a Tea Party leader I&#8217;ll choose the former. I love Liberty better than Wealth. The animated contest of freedom, better than the tranquility of servitude. I&#8217;ll not go home and crouch before any man or government official. </p>

<p><strong>The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America</strong></p>
<p>When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature&#8217;s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.</p>
<p>We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. <p>He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.</p>
<p>He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.</p>
<p>He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.</p>
<p>He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.</p>
<p>He has dissolved representative houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.</p>
<p>He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the legislative powers, incapable of annihilation, have returned to the people at large for their exercise; the state remaining in the meantime exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.</p>
<p>He has endeavored to prevent the population of these states; for that purpose obstructing the laws for naturalization of foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migration hither, and raising the conditions of new appropriations of lands.</p>
<p>He has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers.</p>
<p>He has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.</p>
<p>He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.</p>
<p>He has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies without the consent of our legislature.</p>
<p>He has affected to render the military independent of and superior to civil power.</p>
<p>He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation:</p>
<p>For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:</p>
<p>For protecting them, by mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states:</p>
<p>For cutting off our trade with all parts of the world:</p>
<p>For imposing taxes on us without our consent:</p>
<p>For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury:</p>
<p>For transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses:</p>
<p>For abolishing the free system of English laws in a neighboring province, establishing therein an arbitrary government, and enlarging its boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule in these colonies:</p>
<p>For taking away our charters, abolishing our most valuable laws, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments:</p>
<p>For suspending our own legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.</p>
<p>He has abdicated government here, by declaring us out of his protection and waging war against us.</p>
<p>He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burned our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.</p>
<p>He is at this time transporting large armies of foreign mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the head of a civilized nation.</p>
<p>He has constrained our fellow citizens taken captive on the high seas to bear arms against their country, to become the executioners of their friends and brethren, or to fall themselves by their hands.</p>
<p>He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian savages, whose known rule of warfare, is undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.</p>
<p>In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.</p>

<p>We, therefore, the representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of the good people of these colonies, solemnly publish and declare, that these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states; that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the state of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent states, they have full power to levey war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent states may of right do. &#8220;The Lynchburg Planning Commission voted in favor of a new ordinance  Wednesday that will allow zoning officials to obtain warrants to enter  homes where zoning violations are suspected.&#8221;&nbsp;</p>
<p>&#8220;Fowler said zoning had not requested that power before because it has  traditionally been able to resolve complaints without it. But in the  past year, he has “hit a brick wall” in two specific cases, he said.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;&#8230; he did not expect that inspection warrants would be needed often.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;If concerns not related to the zoning ordinance were noted, such as  possible criminal activity, the inspector would refer it to the police  or other appropriate enforcement agency.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;it was unlikely that the city would break locks or use other forms of force to gain entry to a house.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;“I’m very confident this will not be abused and it will be very helpful to our city,” said Commissioner James Coleman.&#8221;<br />
&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;</p>
<p>Unlike James Coleman, I’m very confident that it WILL be abused, as is  everything in government, and that the city will begin breaking locks  and forcing their way into homes. Call it “unlikely” as they may, what  that really means is, we aren’t saying it won’t happen, so that when it  does, we can say it was an “extreme” case and then use it as precedent  to do it the next time.</p>
<p>Two specific cases should not merit throwing the rest of us under the  bus. The police can’t solve every single crime, but no one is saying  they should be allowed to use “more tools” than they currently have just  because they’ve “hit a brick wall.”</p>

Lynchburg Tea Party President</p>
<p>I spoke with Congressman Robert Hurt today. I&#8217;ve spoken with him enough over the past year to know when he is truly frustrated and this is one of those times. He like many freshman congressman went to D.C. like Mr. Smith. Intent on changing things. Sent there with a purpose and a mission only to have that mission and purpose thwarted. On the issue of spending alone Hurt said &#8221; It&#8217;s easy to believe that we won&#8230;but now is more important than ever that we stay focused&#8221;. He went on to reference that we are borrowing 40 cents of every dollar to the tune of 1.6 trillion every year with a national debt of over 14 Trillion dollars. </p>
<p>It&#8217;s &#8220;unsustainable&#8221; said Hurt, and not just as a platitude. He means it.  </p>
<p>If you have listened to some of his floor speeches you can see that he is not the same quiet guy that left Southside back in January. </p>

<p>&#8220;Failure to address the problems now will lead to the failure of our nation&#8230;I&#8217;m not a pessimist as I believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel&#8230;I wouldn&#8217;t be here if I didn&#8217;t&#8221; The problem is that, as Hurt puts it, Washington D.C. &#8220;moves slow as molasses&#8221; .</p>
<p>As I talk to Tea Party leaders across the commonwealth of Virginia they all have the same message. CUT SPENDING. And yet it isn&#8217;t getting done. Not for lack of desire on the part of some. <strong>The message that isn&#8217;t really getting out is what caused this budget crisis? </strong>The budget that is being worked on and the &#8220;continuing resolutions&#8221; that have been passed so far have been for &#8220;Fiscal Year 2011&#8243; a budget process that was started under the previous House controlled by Democrats. A Senate Controlled by Democrats. A Whitehouse controlled by a Democrat. </p>
<p>So why is all the blame being focused on the Republicans?</p>
<p>HR 1 the first bill of 2011 cut $100 Billion dollars in waste and abuse. A small dent to be sure, but the number one expenditure in our nation is entitlement spending. &#8221; The big money reforms need to come from Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid or those systems will fail &#8221; and he is right. </p>
<p>Robert Hurt was one of 47 Republicans that has stood his ground on spending according to <a href="http://heritageaction.com/2011/02/after-action-report-hr-1/">Heritage</a>. </p>
<blockquote><p>
47 Members (all Republicans) showed a rock-solid willingness to cut spending by voting for every spending cut:</p>
<p>    * Amash, Bachmann, Broun, Campbell, Chabot, Chaffetz, Coffman, Duncan (TN), Duncan (SC), Flake, Fleming, Franks, Garrett, Gowdy, Graves (GA), Heller, Hensarling, Herger, Huelskamp, Huizenga, Hurt, Jenkins, Jordan, Lamborn, Mack, McClintock, McHenry, Miller (FL), Mulvaney, Myrick, Neugebauer, Paul, Pence, Pompeo, Price (GA), Ribble, Rokita, Royce, Scalise, Schweikert, Scott (GA), Scott (SC), Sessions, Walsh, Wilson, Woodall, and Young (IN).</p></blockquote>
<p>In addition to that first 100 Billion Robert Hurt voted for almost $40 Billion more that was shot down by&#8230;say it with me&#8230;Democrats. </p>
<p>In a statement released via email today Hurt said:</p>
<blockquote><p> We have taken important first steps to change course in Washington. I have voted to cut over $136 billion in government spending. I have voted to repeal and replace the Democrats&#8217; health care law in its entirety, to repeal the onerous 1099 provision that burdens small businesses, and to de-fund provisions of the law when the House passed H.R. 1. </p></blockquote>
<p>With rare exception such as his vote to extend the Patriot act I&#8217;ve not seen a lot that I should be concerned about. </p>
<p>The real blame needs to be focused on who is responsible for this mess: The Democratic Party. </p>
<p>I&#8217;m no friend of the establishment GOP. Their biggest problem is they think in terms of political calculations and not always about doing whats right. They like to throw out the &#8220;11th Commandment&#8221; and then throw solid representatives under the bus. All that said they are not the wrench in the gears here. Their biggest problem here is they think the truth alone is good enough. That you don&#8217;t need to sell the truth. Why? The democrats and Obama sell us lies all the time. Look at Libya. Look at the President today on TV criticizing the oil companies for not drilling when his administration won&#8217;t let them drill. A is A, unless you are Obama.</p>
<p>Schumer said he was:</p>
<blockquote><p>“agonizing over whether to give in to right-wing demands that they abandon any compromise on their extreme cuts.” </p></blockquote>
<p>&#8220;Extreme&#8221;? How about you cut 1.6 Trillion Dollars of the money we don&#8217;t have? I wouldn&#8217;t call that Extreme Chucky! I&#8217;d call that RESPONSIBLE!</p>
<p>The GOP Leaders need to hammer this point home at every opportunity:The Democratic leadership had over 1 year starting back in April of 2010 to begin and complete this budget which was supposed to be completed back in October. Instead they&#8217;ve been living on borrowed time and borrowed money. Our time and our money!They have been blaming the GOP for &#8220;not passing a budget&#8221; when it was the 111th Congress that didn&#8217;t get it done. Further they are demanding that the debt ceiling be raised to fund their insanity. As a Father I&#8217;m constantly telling my kids “money doesn&#8217;t grow on trees” but nobody has told these children running the ship of state. Instead, as usual after a game of kick the can, they are pointing the finger at the Republicans who dare to touch their third rails of politics. Sadly we haven&#8217;t even started on the Fiscal Year 2012 budget yet. 2 more great examples of the failures of Liberalism. </p>
<p>It&#8217;s too soon to throw out the representatives that are trying to get the job done. They are out there. Likely there are a few that are long past their expiration date. Robert Hurt isn&#8217;t one of them and anyone that thinks so after 3 months needs to get out of politics.  </p>
<p>When the time comes to &#8220;shut down&#8221; the government my advice to Robert Hurt and anyone else that is serious would be to LET IT! Stand strong and confident that <strong>we support you. </strong>When it does shut down and the finger pointing begins make sure THE PEOPLE know the cold hard truth and nothing but the truth. </p>

<p>Helping you Decode the Presidents State of The Union Speech.</p>

<p><!-- p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } -->Most Americans couldn&#8217;t stomach the idea of listening to the state of the union speech. So I&#8217;ve undertaken the daunting task of decoding the speech from the written transcript found at NPR.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s understandable why most people would skip this staged absurdity.</p>
<p>When Joe Wilson 2 years ago yelled “you lie”! we had no idea how prophetic his words were.</p>
<p><strong>The Nation: </strong></p>
<p>“<em>That&#8217;s what helps set us apart as a nation”</em> The President said referring to the <em>“differences over the past two years”.</em> Ironic because this is the state of the “Union” and we couldn&#8217;t be more divided.  Obama&#8217;s most annoying ploy during this speech is his frequent attempt to tout our national exceptionalism, something he doesn&#8217;t believe in and something he disdains!</p>
<p>“<em>That, too, is what sets us apart as a nation.”</em></p>
<p><strong>Unity:</strong></p>
<p>A frequent trend in this speech was Obama&#8217;s use of terms expressing the desire for unity. He wants a <em>“new era of cooperation”</em> and is hoping we can <em>“work together tomorrow”</em> and <em>“that governing will now be a shared responsibility between parties”</em> or <em>“support from Democrats and Republicans”.</em> This theme continued with <em>“We will move forward together, or not at all “ </em>and begs the question if <em>“not at all”</em> is the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">tone of the new “civility”</span> we&#8217;ve heard so much about recently?</p>
<p>This little bit of baloney wasn&#8217;t all bad, <em>“after all, we just had an election.”</em> Yes, and Mr. President YOU LOST&#8230;but thanks for the reminder.  It&#8217;s always good to revel in our victory over your forces of evil.</p>
<p>Why are we always told we need to “reach across the aisle”? The end result is that we end up capitulating to the demands of the enemies of Liberty.</p>
<p><strong>Jobs:</strong></p>
<p>“<em>&#8230;whether new jobs and industries take root in this country, or somewhere else. “</em> this fails to explain WHY businesses are leaving&#8230;that would be overburdensome policies coming out of D.C. For $500 Alex <em>“&#8230;industry of our people is rewarded.” </em>This is insulting on so many  levels because BHO does not believe this. He and his crony friends in the White House HATE the industrious nature of the American worker.</p>
<p><strong>Taxes:</strong></p>
<p>Obama had the nerve to take credit for the tax cuts that Republicans forced the administration to pass in December, <em>“Thanks to the tax cuts we passed, Americans&#8217; paychecks are a little bigger today.”</em></p>
<p>Here he tells the biggest lie of the night,  <em>“the idea that each of us deserves the chance to shape our own destiny. “</em> This is a lie because he doesn&#8217;t believe one word of it.</p>
<p><strong>Sacrifice: </strong></p>
<p>On to Obama&#8217;s favorite mantras; Sacrifice, <em>“It has required each generation to sacrifice, and struggle, and meet the demands of a new age.”</em> And thrill of thrills <em>“And now it&#8217;s our turn.”</em> followed by the next big lie of the night <em>“out-build the rest of the world.” </em>This is a lie because every day we are told what an evil nation we are for consuming so much. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">If we build, we consume</span>.</p>
<p>Hey Mr. President, Are you sacrificing when you and your wife take +$1 Million dollar trips all over the world?</p>
<p><strong>Free Markets:</strong></p>
<p>“<em>Our free enterprise system is what drives innovation.” </em>Not a truer statement has been said and not a bigger lie for our President. He hates the free enterprise system. Hates innovation that didn&#8217;t originate with the government(none ever does). He starts off touting <em>“free enterprise” </em>but then goes on to attack it by stating we must<em>“provide[d] cutting-edge scientists and inventors with the support that they need&#8230;an investment that will strengthen our security, protect our planet, and create countless new jobs for our people.”</em></p>
<p>Next Obama shows how little he knows about supply and demand by declaring that America will <em>“become the first country to have a million electric vehicles on the road by 2015.” </em>To accomplish this we are already hearing of stories of “incentives” for consumers to buy these electric vehicles.</p>
<p>He doesn&#8217;t understand that our national power grid is over taxed either. That monopolistic control at the local level has hindered the <em>“innovation”</em> he keeps talking about. <em>“I challenge you to join me in setting a new goal: By 2035, 80 percent of America&#8217;s electricity will come from clean energy sources.”</em> We have a clean energy source&#8230;it&#8217;s called Nuclear power. Not one nuke plant has been built In over 20 years.</p>
<p>“<em>We need to get behind this innovation. And to help pay for it, I&#8217;m asking Congress to eliminate the billions in taxpayer dollars we currently <span style="text-decoration: underline;">give to oil companies</span>&#8230;So instead of subsidizing yesterday&#8217;s energy, let&#8217;s invest in tomorrow&#8217;s.”</em></p>
<p>I personally don&#8217;t have a problem taxing big oil. But for some reason Obama thinks that a <em>“tax cut”</em> is a <em>“gift”</em></p>
<p>“By 2035, 80 percent of America&#8217;s electricity will come from clean energy sources. “ He can dream big, after all, he is single handedly making Oil cost more by restricting our ability to drill for it at every turn.  <em>“Some folks want wind and solar. Others want nuclear, clean coal and natural gas. “ </em>Any guesses which ones will get the nod and which ones will get the axe?</p>
<p>But He doesn&#8217;t understand any of this. When was the last time BHO has had to write a check for his power? When has this Ruling Class Elitist been made to pay for the heat he enjoys? Come to think of it, when has Obama worked an honest day in his life?</p>
<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>
<p>After rambling about how the world has changed he touts China&#8217;s innovation and how they are <em>“educating their children earlier and longer, with greater emphasis on math and science. “</em></p>
<p>“<em>we also have to win the race to educate our kids&#8230;as many as a quarter of our students aren&#8217;t even finishing high school. “</em> Never mind, the FACT that we spend more than most rich nations on education and get little to nothing for it.</p>
<p>And what political party controls the education system in America? That would be the Democrats.</p>
<p>Talking of American students <em>“We need to teach them that success is not a function of fame or PR, but of hard work and discipline.”</em> Funny, coming from a guy who is standing where he is not because of <em>“hard work and discipline” </em>but from <em>“fame”</em> and <em>“PR”.</em></p>
<p>He goes on to tout another idea from the treasure trove of new idiotic ideas <em>“Race to the Top should be the approach we follow this year as we replace No Child Left Behind with a law that&#8217;s more flexible and focused on what&#8217;s best for our kids.”</em> I remember when the disaster know as <em>“No Child Left Behind”</em> was passed by guys like Ted Kennedy. How it was supposed to do all these great things to bring standards into our education system&#8230;6 years later and full of failure we&#8217;ve got a new program that is supposed to save the day. New name&#8230;same trash.</p>
<p>Never one to let his Union thug friends miss out on the bennies, <em>“ we want to prepare 100,000 new teachers in the fields of science and technology and engineering and math. “</em> and the laughable <em>“We want to reward good teachers and stop making excuses for bad ones.”</em> I&#8217;d like to see you enforce that on the teachers unions.</p>
<p><strong>Illegal Immigration: </strong></p>
<p>“<em>Today, there are hundreds of thousands of students excelling in our schools who are not American citizens&#8230;They grew up as Americans and pledge allegiance to our flag”</em> Sorry Mr. President, I grew up in California, The only flag they are pledging allegiance to is the Mexican flag.</p>
<p>He pauses here to reiterate his unity plan <em>“am prepared to work with Republicans and Democrats&#8230;let&#8217;s agree to make that effort. “ </em><strong>LETS NOT!</strong></p>
<p><strong>Infrastructure:</strong></p>
<p>“<em>Our infrastructure used to be the best, but our lead has slipped. South Korean homes now have greater Internet access than we do. “</em> This is the first time I agree with what he says. Our Internet infrastructure is slipping. However, I don&#8217;t think it is the roll of government to innovate here. It is the roll of government to get out of the way and let the industry fix this problem.</p>
<p>“<em>So over the last two years, we&#8217;ve begun rebuilding for the 21st century, a project that has meant thousands of good jobs for the hard-hit construction industry. And tonight, I&#8217;m proposing that we redouble those efforts. “ </em>It didn&#8217;t work for the last 2 years&#8230;but I&#8217;m sure it will work this time right?</p>
<p>“<em>We&#8217;ll make sure this is fully paid for, attract private investment, and pick projects based [on] what&#8217;s best for the economy, not politicians.”</em> And pigs can fly!</p>
<p>“<em>Within the next five years, we&#8217;ll make it possible”</em> No, if it happens, private companies will make this possible. <em>“f</em><em>or businesses to deploy the next generation of high-speed wireless coverage to 98 percent of all Americans. “</em> are you going to give everyone a phone? <em>“ But to help our companies compete, we also have to knock down barriers that stand in the way of their success.”</em> Like your administrations idiotic policies? Or is this more crony capitalism?</p>
<p><strong>Health Care: </strong></p>
<p>“<em>We can start right now by correcting a flaw in the legislation that has placed an unnecessary bookkeeping burden on small businesses. “ </em>Referring to the 1099 requirements built into the new health care law&#8230;If the President and Congress had read the stupid law they would have known what was it.</p>
<p>We told them it was&#8230;they didn&#8217;t listen. So now “we” have to fix it.</p>
<p>“<em>So I say to this chamber tonight, instead of re-fighting the battles of the last two years, let&#8217;s fix what needs fixing and let&#8217;s move forward. “</em> Don&#8217;t touch my baby!</p>
<p><strong>Debt:</strong></p>
<p>I&#8217;m not sure if this was a joke or a serious statement, <em>“We need to take responsibility for our deficit and reform our government.” </em></p>
<p>“<em>Now, the final critical step in winning the future is to make sure we aren&#8217;t buried under a mountain of debt.”</em> Oh <span style="text-decoration: underline;">now</span> you care about spending too much money? <em>“&#8230;every day, families sacrifice to live within their means. They deserve a government that does the same.” </em></p>
<p>“<em>So tonight, I am proposing that starting this year, we freeze annual domestic spending for the next five years. Now, this would reduce the deficit by more than $400 billion over the next decade, “</em> It is so sad that our educational system is so bad, and so many stupid people don&#8217;t see the lie that was just told to them in this statement $400 Billion dollars spread over 10 years is $40 Billion/yr. PEANUTS! From a government that is going to be spending $1.4 Trillion dollars MORE than it has this year alone.</p>
<p>Remember when a Billion was a lot of money?</p>
<p>“<em>In fact, the best thing we could do on taxes for all Americans is to simplify the individual tax code.”</em> The ONLY way to do this at this point would be to institute the Fair Tax. Thats not going to happen. We have a better chance of building a Nuclear power plant than in our government <em>“simplifying  the tax code”</em> Charlie Rangel wrote the stupid code and then broke it for 17 straight years.</p>
<p>“<em>The 21st century government that&#8217;s open and competent. A government that lives within its means. “</em></p>
<p><strong>Take a moment and laugh&#8230;I did!</strong></p>
<p><strong>Foreign Policy:</strong></p>
<p>About now he begins a long bit on touting his foreign policy accomplishments. Thanking our Troops. Talking about our “conflicts” overseas. Nothing spectacular. Though he did take a second and brag on how Gay people can now be openly gay and wreck our military.</p>
<p>He did touch on Iran, <em>“ Because of a diplomatic effort to insist that Iran meet its obligations, “</em> I can with absolute certainty guarantee that Iran isn&#8217;t scared of you Mr. President.  They are very scared of Israeli Hackers.</p>
<p>“<em>This March, I will travel to Brazil, Chile, and El Salvador to forge new alliances across the Americas. Around the globe, we&#8217;re standing with those who take responsibility — helping farmers grow more food, supporting doctors who care for the sick, and combating the corruption that can rot a society and rob people of opportunity.”</em></p>
<p>Oh goodie another expensive vacation. Lets not have the leaders of these nations visit us&#8230;nope lets spend millions of dollars traveling to see them.</p>
<p><strong>Closing: </strong></p>
<p>“<em>From the earliest days of our founding, America has been the story of ordinary people who dare to dream.”</em> Give me a break! He no more believes this than he things Ronald Reagan was a great President.</p>
<p>So if you guessed that the SOTU would be filled with lies and distortions then you were right. Sadly once again the American people are being deceived at the highest levels of government and the people are doing little to stop it.</p>

		<title>Victory, Defeat and Missile Defense</title>

<div><em>Thank you to all who contacted our two Virginia senators about  the Omnibus spending bill. As many of you probably know, &#8220;Dingy&#8221; Harry  Reid pulled the bill from consideration around 8:00pm last night. At  this point we do not know whether Reid pulled the bill due to Democrats  withdrawing their support or due to 41 GOP senators standing firm with  their threat of filibuster. Either way, this battle in the larger war  was won.</em></div>

<div><em> </em></div>
<div><em>On the down side, many GOP members of the House voted to  support the bill that extended the Bush-era tax cuts. Unfortunately,  this bill was laden with other provisions that made it objectionable,  including spending for extension of long-term unemployment benefits that  were not balanced by spending cuts elsewhere. (One proposal that was  shot down was to use unspent portions of the Obama &#8217;stimulus&#8217; to pay for  the extension.)</em></div>
<div><em><br />
</em></div>
<div><em>The other more objectionable provision of the tax bill was an  extension of tax credits to Agribusiness for ethanol production. Even Al  Gore</em> <em>has come out against the use of ethanol, and he advocated  elimination of this subsidy. The GOP went lamely along with this  unnecessary, fruitless, and destructive hand-out to Agribusiness. The  GOP should let ethanol stand on its own two feet, and it would if it in  fact is a benefit to the economy. Instead, the GOP went along with  corporate welfare that creates a market for ethanol by requring it as an  additive to gasoline, by extending tax credits for producers, and by  keeping a tarriif on cheaper imports. A three-pronged hand-out that, by  taking corn out of the food supply, results in increased food prices by  increasing demand on the limited commodity.</em></div>

<div><em> </em></div>
<div><em>The weak-kneed, limp-wristed GOP played softball again by going  along with a short-term, two-year extension of tax cuts that still  leaves the business community in doubt about what will occur two years  from now when the same issue will be center stage. Obama, knowing that a  two-year extension is not enough time to turn the economy around, will  then be able to tell the electorate that &#8220;We tried the Republicans plan,  and it didn&#8217;t work.&#8221; The GOP should have held firm on extension of all  the cuts, including the permanent elimination of the estate tax (better  known as the death tax). In this way, the new GOP-controlled House could  have passed a proper tax cut extension bill and put the onus and  pressure on the Democrat-controlled Senate and Obama White House to kill  it in the face of increasingly bad economic news. It would have been  short-term pain for the economy but long-term gain for both the economy  and the Conservative cause. This action on the part of the GOP does not  bode well for those in doubt about whether the GOP has the guts to do  what it will take to save our economy and hence our free society.</em></div>
<div><em> </em></div>
<div><em>Speaking of saving our society, presidents from Washington to  Reagan (with a few exceptions in between), and even GW Bush (whatever  else his short-comings) knew that the best guarantee against foreign  attack was to maintain strong defensive posture. The US Senate is  currently debating the Obama-negotiated START Treaty that will weaken  our defensive posture. This treaty is bad for several reasons. First,  its provisions will result in a reduction in our ICBM&#8217;s to the level  Russia currently has. Second, the treaty disallows the US to continue  work on Missile Defense (otherwise knwon as &#8216;Star Wars&#8217; or SDI &#8211; the  same &#8216;Star Wars&#8217; system that scared the daylights out of the USSR,  resulted in the Reagan Stand at Reykjavik in 1986, and played a big part  in the fall of communism in Eastern Europe.) Third, the treaty does not  even address the issue of battlefield nuclear weapons, better known as  tactical nuclear weapons. Tactical nuclear weapons can be thought of  &#8220;deployed&#8221; nuclear weapons, such as on ships, submarines, and land-based  vehicles. The treaty only deals with stationary nuclear weapons  - ICBM&#8217;s in silos. The Russians currently have a huge advantage in  tactical nuclear weapons and Obama did not even have this issue  addressed by the treaty. Overall, the treaty requires a reduction in US  nuclear capability - which make no sense to any person who loves our way  of life and wants to protect it.</em></div>
<div><em> </em></div>
<div><em>Regarding the issue of missile defense, the White House  disputes the assertion that the treaty curtails US missle defense, while  the Russians state it absolutely does. Some senators have asked the  Obama State Department to provide the Senate with notes, documents,  etc., from the negotiations so the matter can be clarified, but Obama  has refused. This confusion on what the treaty requires means there is  not an agreement between the Russian government and the Obama  Administration. So, the Democrats are asking the Senators to approve a  treaty regarding US Defense when there is really not a treaty to begin  with &#8211; if a treaty represents an agreement. There is no agreement here  on a crucial aspect of American nuclear defense. This is reason enough  to reject the treaty. </em></div>
<div><em> </em></div>
<div><em>In light of this, <strong>we ask that you to contact Senators Webb and  Warner to voice your strong opposition to passage of the treaty</strong>.  Article 2 of the Constitution gives the president power to make treaties  with the concurrence of two-thrids of the Senate. The GOP could easily  defeat this treaty but many have expressed initial support. Please  contact these two senators and voice your informed opposition using the  information provided here. Although the Tea Party has, to date, largely  concentrated its efforts on domestic policy, we as freedom-loving  Americans must realize there are threats, both foreign and domestic,  which we must confront. </em></div>
