This is related to the event on January 18, 2010 and was recently sent out through CFL.

January 4, 2010

Dear Liberty Advocate,

Barack Obama may have just gotten back from a luxury resort in Hawaii, but when it comes to taking away your freedoms, he doesn’t take a day off.

Obama has ordered his gun-grabbing Attorney General, Bill Clinton’s gun-ban architect Eric Holder, to go after new pro-gun state laws in Montana and Tennessee that declare federal gun control laws invalid if the gun is manufactured in that state and never crosses state lines.

By passing the buck to his attorney general, Obama can continue to mislead the public by saying he himself has no desire to take away our guns.

And not only are his cronies scheming to eliminate any state law that conflicts with their global gun-grabbing agenda, they’re also working to bring back D.C.’s infamous gun ban.

And they’re not stopping at your right to keep and bear arms. Obama and his henchmen are also working to expand their control to your family doctor’s office.

Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi want to control how you get your health care by giving you a frightening choice – you can either purchase only private health insurance plans that carry the Obama administration’s stamp of approval…

…or be fined $1900, face a year in jail, and pay penalties up to $25,000 for not having the approved health insurance or buying a plan not approved by the government. Penalties can start if a single, monthly payment is missed.

And the private plans are set up to fail, “forcing” government to eliminate all private health care and force every American into government-controlled plans.

It’s such an invasive and abusive power grab, Obama actually campaigned against it as a candidate and attacked Hillary Clinton for even suggesting it – only to embrace it and back it with the threat of imprisonment as President.

We can stop Obama’s federal power grab of our state’s rights at Virginia’s borders with Delegate Bob Marshall’s Virginia Healthcare Freedom Act, HB10, and Delegate Charles W. Carrico’s Virginia Firearms Freedom Act, HB69.

Senator Jill Vogel will carry both Senate versions of the bills on the Senate side.

We are beginning to build support with a list of cosponsors for both bills in the House and are working on the Senate side for support and cosponsors.

Now, I need your help if we are to win this fight. This is what I need you to do:

1) Contact your state representatives in the House and Senate and ask them to cosponsor the Virginia Firearms Freedom Act and the Virginia Healthcare Freedom Act. You can find your legislators here.

2) Make plans to attend the 10th Amendment Revolution Lobby Day/Rally on January 18th from 9AM – 2PM at the Bell Tower on the Capitol grounds in Richmond.

3) Contribute what you can to help us continue to travel the state spreading the word and lobbying the legislators in their districts. We still have a rally to host, lapel stickers to purchase so the legislators recognize us in committee and in the General Assembly on Lobby Day, legislative packets to put together for the legislators, and literature and announcements to print to hand out in the districts to ensure a great turnout on January 18th. And it doesn’t end there. We will no doubt have to target legislators who waffle as the session begins, and we need to be ready.

If every member of Campaign for Liberty in Virginia were to contribute just $5, we would have the funds needed to carry this legislative campaign to the finish with two bills signed into law by the Governor. And we have an Attorney General who will defend those new laws.

We have come too far to give up. If we don’t raise the funds needed, we may not get this campaign any further than it stands now.

I know these are tough times — I’m sacrificing too — but if we don’t act now, times will only get tougher.

Remember, our Founding Fathers gave their wealth, their honor, and even their lives for our freedoms. We must protect what they have given us and secure our state’s rights in Virginia. This has never been more important than it is now.

Please contribute what you can – $5, $10, $25, $50, $100. No amount is too small. Just click here.

Believe me when I tell you that asking you for your hard earned money during these tough times is not an easy thing for me to do. I have trouble contributing myself, but it is necessary that we all do what we can.

No war was ever won without some sacrifice, and I would deeply appreciate any amount you can give, no matter how big or small.

Those who see our liberties as threats to their plans for limitless government control aren’t slowing down or taking a break.

Please encourage your coworkers, friends, and family to join us in stopping the Obama federal power grabbing schemes in Virginia.

Yours in liberty,
